The Sandhills Slide has come to a finish in Broken Bow NE.  It was a great show for the Vernon barn.  The show started Thursday and Guy began by placing 2nd in the Open and Intermediate Open on Endeavor Doc.  He also placed 4th in the Intermediate Open on Joelyn Knoll-Brown's gelding Hang it to Em.  Lacey placed 2nd in the Youth 14-18 on her gelding Rio Chic Olena.  In the Green Rider Class Kim Nordby placed 2nd on her horse El Dorado Whiz, tied with Joelyn Knoll-Brown on her gelding Hang it to Em.

Photo courtesy of "I Shoot Horses etc."It was a great show.  Deanne Brehm is back in action on her good horse Hezkidbroke.  Jane Kellogg had a great showing on her horse Terr Up the Hour.  Lacey's dog Henry got into the competition as well with the dog races!  The weather was great, the BBQ's much appreciated, and of course the pies were out of this world!  Thanks to CPRHA for putting on such a well organized and fun show.

Andrea Bundy and Charlene Feldkamp attended the Western Slope show in Grand Junction during the Sandhills Slide.  Charlene had some big stops on her good mare Endeavors Magic.  Good work Charlene and Bugs!  Congratulations go to Andrea for winning the Rookie class.  This win unofficially qualifies her for the Mountain Affiliate Finals.  Andrea has also unofficially qualified for the Limited Open class.  Congratulations Andrea on a super job!  We're proud of you!

A big "Thank You" to our summer intern Kelly Schedlock.  Kelly was with us until the end of July.  She wanted some time off before returning to school in Cheyenne.  Thank You Kelly for a great job this summer.  We will miss you!!

You can't say Rope, Guy, and Lacey aren't having fun at the Summer Slide!

Congratulations to Guy's Non Pro riders who placed at the Eastern Slope Slide in Colorado Springs July 9 - 11.   However, being the nice guy that he is, he  decided to help Deanne out with her new pattern submission.  He modified pattern 5 to not include any spins - left or right.  It looks like it has new pattern potential.  The judge at the show didn't like it though.

The Eastern Slope Slide  was definitely the Joelyn Knoll-Brown show.  Joelyn won the Rookie class on her horse Hang it to Em, placed 2nd in the Green Rider class, and placed 2nd in the Limited Non Pro class.
