About Guy VernonGuy Vernon has been training horses since 1988 and showing reining horses since 1993. A 1988 graduate with an equestrian degree from the Lamar Community College in southeastern Colorado, he has established himself as an accomplished Trainer, Showman, Clinician, and NRHA Judge. His success in the Reining Horse industry has earned him numerous championship titles.
Always a crowd pleaser, Guy Vernon has dazzled audiences with his Freestyle reining performances. He has performed and won at the National Western Stock Show Freestyle Invitational, the NRHA Futurity Invitational Freestyle, Michael Martin Murphy's Invitational Freestyle, and many others. Guy is the first rider to qualify for the first USET in 1999 riding Endeavor Doc. At the 2001 USET Finals, Guy and his talented horse, Endeavor Doc, became the first horse and rider team in history to complete a pattern without a bridle.
Non Pro Coaching and TrainingVernon Performance Horses offers riding lessons to Non Pro riders of all levels, from Green Rider to Non Pro. Guy's instruction style allows the rider to progress at their speed, and have fun! His teaching style is clear and easy to understand. It is also detailed enough to describe the underlying maneuver mechanics. His NRHA judging experience is very valuable when working with his Non Pros to produce a quality result. We can also promote your Aged Event horse. Guy's experience in the show pen and his training program at home provides a solid base for a winning team at the show! ClinicsGuy is available to give clinics. Clinic size ranges from 5 to 15 riders. No matter what your level of riding experience, you and your horse will definitely benefit from his instruction.His clinics focus on improving both the rider and the horse. We can start and train your futurity prospect. When it comes time to show, know that your horse will be in the best of hands. We can introduce your young horse to the show pen in a non-threatening manner, making showing a pleasing experience for the horse. We can also evaluate your young horse to determine its propensity for reining.
